A Month to Movember at Tenon Tours

tt-moustache.jpg Hair today, gone tomorrow!  That’s right Folks, Movember (Slang for moustache and November.) is officially here! So, don’t be alarmed if you see an abundance of men sprouting whiskers and peach fuzz during the month.  Movember is responsible for thousands of men growing mustaches on their faces to raise awareness for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer.

The Movember and Sons Foundation encourages men (“Mo Bros”) to get involved around the globe.  Since 2004, the organization has sponsored Movember events to raise over $174 million worldwide!

Men are asked to start clean shaven on November 1st and grow their mustache for a full 30 days, getting family, friends, and colleagues to donate to their efforts.  Many women who support their men, known as Mo Sistas, also help raise funds  for their Mo Bro’s Mo-growing efforts.

Every year, more than 242,000 American men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in addition to over 28,000 deaths. Testicular cancer causes more than 8,500 new cases each year and more than 350 deaths.

What a tremendous cause to raise money for while we book dream vacations to Ireland, UK, and beyond .  President of Tenon Tours, Bryan Lewis said, “As a team of Ireland travel specialists , we are determined to raise money specifically through what we know best-Guinness and the Mo’s that go with it!”  “I don’t think anyone knows how excited this makes me. I will be sporting my mustache earrings all month long,” said Managing Director, Katie Fleming.

Help cheer us on and support us at Tenon Tours while we raise some cash for the stache! Who knew raising money for a charity could get so hairy?  Ready, Set, Grow the Mo!!
